As we embark on a new tradition at Mole, we are thrilled to introduce #BuildYourNetwork – a bi-weekly spotlight on leaders, innovators, and changemakers who are reshaping the world in their fields.

This initiative is not just about gaining followers; it's about building a community of inspiration, motivation, and impactful networking. 🚀🌟🤝

This week, we're excited to cast the spotlight on a figure whose work has been instrumental in shaping a robust support network for women entrepreneurs: Lily Sim Li Hong

As co-founder of Female Founders in Malaysia & Southeast Asia (FFMYSEA), Lily has dedicated herself to creating a thriving ecosystem designed to empower, connect, and support women in business across the region.

🌻 How do you set your vibe for the day?

I go for a morning run or walk. It gives me the happy hormones I need to start my day with feel good vibes. If I don’t have time for one, matcha and a good breakfast does it for me.

🛋️ How do you relax?

Go for a walk, lie on my bed and read threads, listen to acoustic covers.

💼 How would you describe your work to someone outside of your field?

I bring people together, especially female founders and fitness enthusiasts

🌟 Why do you feel like it’s important to have a women-centred community, and what pushed you to start one?

Women need our own space to express ourselves and support one another. We also have unique challenges so we need to address them differently with people who understand (other women).

We do welcome men as well, as many strong women are supported by supportive men in their lives.

I was feeling lonely as a female founder right after I quit my corporate job, I couldn’t find the right community so I decided to start one. I also met my co-founder, Emily who gave me the confidence to build and grow the community further.

🤝 Do you enjoy networking?

I do but moderately. I enjoy meeting new people but I do feel drained if I don’t pace myself.

🌐 Best encounter at a networking event?

I’m a big fan of running but I don’t meet runners often at networking events. I was invited to one by La French Tech and when I told people there I like running, they told me they like running too! Turns out French people love to run. So I had a memorable night listening to stories of exotic places to run over wine and cheese.

💖What's your favourite thing about Mole?

I love that Mole is championing networking for introverts and providing a safe space for people who hate networking. And their fun videos!
