As an accomplished UI/UX designer himself and community builder at Design Leadership KL, Johnny Woo is on a mission to cultivate a flourishing UI/UX community.
🌻 How do you set your vibe for the day?
I kickstart my day with a cup of coffee. The smell is a great wake-up call and something I look forward to every morning.
🛋️ How do you relax?
I chill on my beanbag, scroll through social media, or just zone out looking at the park across the street. Another cup of coffee never hurts either!
💼 How would you describe your work to someone outside of your field?
For average person- I design digital stuff on a computer, making apps and websites look and work better. For older generation- I draw boxes on a computer, then add some words and add some colors.
🌟 What made you want to create a community for the UI/UX community, and what inspired you to initiate FUSECON?
When I moved into a managerial role in 2019, I saw organizing community events as a way to learn and help others. It’s grown into FUSECON, and this year is the second go at it.
🤝 Do you enjoy networking?
Yeah, I like meeting new people and hearing fresh ideas. I’m quite introverted, so I don’t always start conversations, but I enjoy connecting.
🌐 Best encounter at a networking event?
Meeting a friendly industry leader who I’ve kept in touch with. It’s been great to have that ongoing connection.
💖 What's your favourite thing about Mole?
The digital business card feature—everything about me in one page. Super handy!
🎧 What are you listening to now?

🍧 Favourite snack or dessert?
Roasted almonds, mochi, and red bean soup. Totally old-school, but I love them.
